What a New Door Costs in Crosby

Every quote is supply and install, VAT included, in writing after the survey. No separate fitting fee and no price that moves on the day. Here is what actually changes the figure.

Door Material

A composite door costs more than a uPVC back door and less than a thermally broken aluminium bifold. Material is the biggest single factor.

Size of the Opening

Standard openings are cheapest. Anything oversized, arched or with a side panel is made to measure and priced accordingly.

Glass & Colour

Plain obscure glass is the baseline. Leaded, patterned or bespoke glass options and non-standard colours add to it.

Frame or Slab Only

Reusing a sound frame is cheaper than taking the whole thing out. We tell you at the survey which one your opening needs.

Replacing a draughty old door also pays some of itself back in heating, which is worth weighing against the cheapest quote you get.

Fitted by Our Own Installers

A family firm supplying and installing windows and doors across Crosby and Sefton since 1999.

We have been fitting doors in Crosby for over 25 years. Countrywide UPVC (NW) Ltd was started in 1999 by Paul, who still runs it. Every door we supply is fitted by a directly employed installer on our own payroll, never a subcontracted fitter you have not met.

One team handles the survey, the order, the installation and the tidy up, so there is one number to ring if you need us afterwards. You get expert advice at the survey and a 10-year guarantee behind the work, which is the peace of mind most people are actually paying for.

What Our Customers Say

Live, verified Google reviews from customers across Crosby and Sefton.

High-Security Doors as Standard

Every new door leaves our supplier with the security features already built in. High-security locks are not an upgrade you pay extra for.

Yale Multi-Point Locking

Anti-Snap Locking

Yale multi-point locking systems with anti-snap cylinders, the failure point burglars actually target on a uPVC or composite door.

Solid Core, Reinforced Frame

A dense core absorbs impact and gives you the thermal efficiency and insulation a hollow door cannot. Frames are steel reinforced.

Fitted, Not Just Delivered

Hinges adjusted, frame packed and sealed, old door taken away. A poorly fitted door leaks heat and drops on its hinges within a year.

Colours & Glass Options

Choose from a wide selection of colours, woodgrain finishes and leaded or patterned glass options. Customisable down to the handle and letterplate, so the aesthetics match the house.

Fitted in Half a Day

Most single composite door installations take three to four hours, start to finish, including taking the old door away.

We cover the whole of Crosby, including Great Crosby, Blundellsands, Waterloo, Thornton, Little Crosby, Seaforth and Litherland. We work on Crosby properties of every age and type, from terraces to detached.

Help & Support

Frequently Asked Questions

The things people ask us before booking a survey.

It depends on the size of your opening, the glass options you pick and whether the existing frame comes out. Rather than quote a headline figure you cannot hold us to, we measure up free and give you the typical cost of a composite door for your actual doorway, in writing, supply and install, VAT included.

We do not charge a separate fitting fee. Every price we quote is supply and install, so the figure on the quote is the figure you pay. Nothing is added for waste removal, sealing or the FENSA certificate.

A composite door has a solid core bonded inside a GRP skin, so it is heavier, better insulated and harder to force. A uPVC door is lighter and cheaper. For a new front door most people choose composite; for a back door onto a utility or garden, uPVC is usually the sensible spend.

Yes. Doors are bespoke, so you pick from a wide selection of colours and woodgrain finishes, decorative or obscure glass, and the handle, hinge and letterplate finish. We bring samples to the survey so you are choosing from the real thing rather than a screen.

A composite door fitted properly should give you 30 years or more. They do not warp, rot or need repainting; an occasional wipe down and a drop of oil on the hinges is the whole maintenance job. That longevity is where the value for money is, and ours carry a 10-year guarantee.

Three to four hours for a single door. That covers taking the old door and frame out, fitting and packing the new frame, hanging the door, sealing out draughts, adjusting the multi-point locking and clearing up.

If the door is more than 50% glazed it is notifiable. We are FENSA registered, so we self-certify the installation with Sefton Council and the certificate comes to you. You do not need to apply for anything yourself.
