Why Choose Countrywide for a New Door

Family run since 1999, FENSA registered, and fitting with our own employed installers rather than subcontractors.

Countrywide UPVC (NW) Ltd was started in 1999 by Paul Campbell, who still runs it, from an office at 104 New Court Way in Ormskirk that has not moved in 25 years. Search for a door round here and most of what comes back is a warehouse, a national retailer or a supply-only trade counter. Plenty of door suppliers will sell you a door. Far fewer are door fitters as well.

Every door is surveyed, ordered, fitted and guaranteed by the same firm, start to finish. The person who measures your opening works with the person who hangs the door, and both of them are on our payroll. That is what a 10-year guarantee on the workmanship actually rests on.

Help & Support

Composite Doors, Fitting and Guarantees: Common Questions

Including the two we get asked most, which are both about what we do not do.

No. We are an installer of exterior doors only. If you are after internal oak doors, white pre-finished interior doors or room dividers, a joinery merchant or a door warehouse is the right call. What we do is the outside of the house: front, back, French, patio and bifold.

Not to homeowners. Everything we supply we install, because the weather seal, the locking and the frame packing are fitting jobs rather than product ones. A door dropped off on a pallet is not a job we can guarantee. Trade enquiries are handled separately.

Composite front and back doors, uPVC doors, aluminium bifold doors, and French and patio doors. All exterior, all made to measure, all supplied and fitted by us from start to finish.

A composite door has a solid insulated core bonded inside a GRP skin, so it is heavier, more thermally efficient and harder to force. A uPVC door is lighter and cheaper. Most people put a composite door on the front and a uPVC door on the back.

A composite door fitted properly should give you 30 years or more. They do not warp, rot or need repainting, so the whole maintenance job is an occasional wipe down and a drop of oil on the hinges. Ours carry a 10-year guarantee on the workmanship as well as the product.

Barely. The GRP skin and the insulated core move far less than timber does, which is the main reason people replace a wooden door with one. If a door starts catching in warm weather it is usually the hinges needing a quarter turn, and that is a five-minute visit.

Yes, and CHAS accredited and Constructionline certified. A glazed door replacement is notifiable work, so we self-certify the installation with the local authority and the certificate comes to you.

Three to four hours for a single door, start to finish, including taking the old one away. Bifolds and French doors take longer, and we tell you which at the quote rather than on the day.

The whole city and the surrounding areas across Merseyside, including Aigburth, Allerton, Woolton, Mossley Hill, West Derby, Childwall, Wavertree, Garston, Walton, Anfield, Crosby, Bootle and out into Knowsley and Sefton.

Yes. A free home survey, proper measurements and a written price with no obligation. We bring the colour and glass samples to you, so you can choose at home rather than in a showroom. No three-hour sales visit and no discount that expires that evening.
